Ojai Raptor Center

I’ve lived in Santa Barbara just about my entire life and I’d never heard of the Ojai Raptor Center before now. In case you also haven’t heard of them, this is what they do – it’s pretty awesome! Hope you enjoy the images from my visit this past Sunday during their open house.

Ojai Raptor Center (ORC) is dedicated to the rehabilitation and release of injured, orphaned and displaced birds of prey, and to providing educational programs to teach about raptors and our shared environment. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, licensed by California State Fish & Game and Federal Fish & Wildlife. As such we rely solely on charitable contributions for our operations. All contributions are tax-deductible.

Exciting News from 2012

Well, two things happened in 2012 that I am very proud of. The first was having “Jagged Sky” selected to be included in the Rare Earth show in Vermont. The entire exhibit catalog can be purchased through this link, http://www.viovio.com/shop/137874.

The second amazing thing that happened was “The King” received Image of the Year from the Channel City Camera Club.

Moreton Bay Fig Tree

Had a few things to do in Santa Barbara this morning, so we made a stop at the Fig Tree down near the train station so the pooch could get out and stretch his legs.

Rumor has it

I am pet-sitting a couple of cute miniature Aussie’s named Rumor and Lulu. I’ve had a terrible time capturing any good shots of them because they are both a little skittish. So, as soon as my camera comes out, off they run. Well, we’re on day 4 right now and I think I might be winning. I got one shot today of Rumor – maybe tomorrow Lulu will come around and let me take her picture.
